Application Rates
The composting process is a naturally occurring process in which Bacteria
breaks
down the
biosolids and wood material into a top soil like material. This material
resembles the upper layer of the forest floor after the top layer of
leaves has been
scraped away. It is a dark fluffy material that has an
earthy smell, a 40 - 60 % moisture
content, and approximately a 2-2-2 nutrient value. Compost is best used as
a soil amendment in both heavy clay and sandy soils.
The slow release properties and its ability to hold water also make compost desirable for use in landscaping, flower beds, and ornamental gardens. Many landscapers have begun using compost to artificially create a top soil layer before installing sod grasses. This artificial top soil layer helps hold moisture close to the root zone of the sod grass, and helps reduce shock to the sod. this same process has also proven beneficial in the preparation of flower beds and other types of applications.

made from decaying wood and wood waste products. Both product lines are
tested for quality control purposes, while the biosolid compost is tested
for pathogens, metals, and other nuisance causing organisms.
