End Product Testing

The Neches Compost Facility (NCF) is governed by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, under the authority of the  Texas Administrative Code, Title 30, Chapters 312 and 332. These regulations mandate the operating conditions of a compost facility as well as a testing regime that includes the analysis of fecal coliform and Heavy metals.

NCF became a member of the US Composting Council, an organization for the further development of recycling through composting, in 2004 in an effort to help standardize the biosolid compost industry. As a Result, NCF is an active participant in their Seal of Testing Assurance (STA) Program.  This program establishes sampling criteria for testing that goes beyond those required by State and Federal Regulatory agencies.  This program prescribes the frequency of analysis based on production quantities.  The program also prescribes parameters such as nutrients, compost stability, compost maturity, germination, pH, moisture content, salinity, and particle size.

NCF has certified it's product lines through the STA program. This certification allows NCF to produce a product that can be utilized by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) as part of their normal maintenance routines as well as new construction.
