Wood Waste Disposal

Wood waste is essential to the composing process. The Neches Compost Facility accepts wood waste material and yard trimmings free of charge from the general public, helping you to avoid costly disposal fees. Donated materials are greatly appreciated and help keep product prices low.

Materials are only accepted during the posted hours of operation and the public must report to the yard attendant, who will assist you with unloading. Please use the “Public Sales” entrance, labeled on the map.

Wood Waste Materials Acceptance Criteria

Using only natural materials ensures our products are environmentally safe. Please
read the list of acceptable and unacceptable materials closely. All plastic bags must
be removed for inspection.

Materials Accepted

  • Brush
  • Limbs
  • Bagged yard clippings and leaves
  • Wood material less than 18″ in diameter
  • Wood material less than 4′ long

Materials Not Accepted

  • Stumps
  • Pallets
  • Treated or painted wood
  • Telephone poles
  • Railroad ties
  • Demolition debris
  • Paper
  • Garbage
  • Vegetative waste
  • Food waste
  • Rubber
  • Plastic
  • Metal 
  • Concrete

Penalties for violations of these rules may be assessed.
